Setting up your profile is simple and essential for getting started. Here’s a step-by-step guide to completing the Basic Details section of your profile:
The first thing you want to do is upload a photo of yourself. While it doesn't have to be a professional photo, a clear, well-lit image of yourself will help you appear more professional to potential clients. The more professional the photo, the better—it shows you're serious about your work.
While not required to complete your profile, adding a banner or logo is a great touch. These images will appear on your invoices and digital business cards (a paid feature). It’s an opportunity to enhance your branding.
Make sure to use your real name here, as it needs to match the ID you will be uploading later. This ensures that your profile can be verified by your ID.
You can add any email address you prefer. If you want to change it later, simply type in the new email and click save. This will update your login and the email where you’ll receive notifications.
Your phone number must be able to receive text messages, as you'll receive notifications for new offers and bookings via text. Make sure it’s a number that can receive these messages.
If you don’t have a business name, that’s perfectly fine. The only reason to add one here is if you want your invoices to be made out to that business name. If you choose to add it, make sure to select “use as vendor name” to have your invoices reflect that name. If you don’t check this, invoices will be made out to your personal name.
If you don’t have a personal website, no worries! You can link to your NotaryNearMe.com page or any other platform where potential clients can find you.
Your bio is a quick summary of who you are and what you bring to the table. Keep it short—around 3-4 sentences (under 250 characters)—so it’s easy for clients to quickly read and understand your experience and professionalism.
Mobile Service: If you provide mobile services, your home or office address will be listed by default. This address is used for the location when people search for you.
In-Store Services: If you have a storefront or office where clients can visit, you can check the box to display your address. Leave it unchecked if you don’t want to show this address publicly.
If you're dual commissioned or working in multiple states, you can add those states here. Just make sure to upload the relevant commission for each state.
If you speak multiple languages, be sure to add them here! This helps you stand out in search results when people are looking for a notary who speaks a specific language. Ensure you are proficient in the languages you list.
For Remote Online Notaries (RON): If you're registered on any RON platforms, you can select which ones you’re verified on. This is helpful when clients send RON offers that need to be conducted on a particular platform.
After making any changes, always click save to update your profile. This ensures that your basic details are correctly reflected in your account.
By following these steps, you'll complete your Basic Details section and make your profile more attractive and accessible to clients.
